Techland, the developer of the upcoming Dying Light open world zombie game, confirms that players will have over 50 hours of content in the new title and that the Be The Zombie mode, which allows players to infiltrate the worlds of other individuals, is crucial to the experience.

Dying Light is eagerly awaited by quite a lot of people who want a slight twist when it comes to killing virtual zombies, as the latest title from Techland combines not just regular undead murdering but also parkour elements, as players can use their superior agility to avoid or evade the hordes of monsters, at least during the day.

During the night, the zombies become more agile and vicious, while special Night Hunter monsters come out to stalk players, either controlled by the AI or via the Be The Zombie mode by other humans.

Dying Light features over 50 hours of things to do

Techland is adamant about the amount of content in Dying Light and has confirmed that there are over 50 hours' worth of activities scattered around the game's open world.

What's more, through the Be The Zombie mode, which is exclusive to those who pre-ordered the game ahead of launch, the nighttime portion of the game becomes even more thrilling and intense, as you never know what might be stalking you.

According to Dying Light Producer Tymon Smektala, who has talked with GamePur, the game is set to deliver a definitive zombie survival experience.

"The game is absolutely huge as it is, but to provide the ultimate zombie survival experience, we added an extra element of unpredictability to our nighttime gameplay," he explains, in reference to the Be The Zombie mode.

Be The Zombie is a big part of the Dying Light experience

According to Smektala, the special competitive mode is essential to making the zombies feel lethal and dangerous, as well as to flesh out the survival experience.

"Online players can face the threat of a possible invasion of their game by the Night Hunter, an extremely powerful, human-controlled zombie mutation. These invasions are an inherent part of Dying Light, available on all platforms for all online players from day one," he adds.

Dying Light is set to debut on January 27, 2015, in North America and January 30 in Europe and the rest of the world, for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. You can expect to hear much more about it as we get closer to its launch in just a few months.
