You will need a companion app to add it to download queue

Dying Light’s launch hasn’t been uneventful, as the game was slightly delayed in some territories with the UK getting the game on January 30.

Now it looks like the game has been hit by a bug that prevents PlayStation 4 owners from downloading it from the PSN Store, even though they have already purchased it.

It appears that when you head over to your games library and click on Dying Light icon instead of opening the game, you will get an error saying that the application is missing and that you should go to PSN Store and download it.

If you head over to the game’s PSN Store page, it will show you that the game is already installed, but when you tap on it to start playing it, you will receive the same error message that is sending you to the same page.

Bottom line is you’ll find yourself in an infinite loop getting the same error message that directs you to the game’s PSN store page.

Apparently, the bug lies within the PlayStation Network, so there’s nothing that Techland can do to fix it. The good news is Sony will soon roll out an update to PSN, which is supposed to address this issue.

Simply use a companion app to add Dying Light to PS4's download queue

Until then though, there’s a workaround you can use to download and play Dying Light. The solution has been found by one of the many Dying Light buyers who posted it on PlayStation forum, so everyone can take advantage of it.

In order to trick your PS4 console to download Dying Light instead of thinking that it’s already installed, you will need to access the PSN store from another device using a companion application.

Head over to the Dying Light’s page and you’ll notice that it says that you can download the game to your PS4, which is exactly what you want. Tap on it and add it to the download queue and you should have your game downloaded automatically on your console.

Update1: Keep in mind that this workaround does not work for everyone. Some get error CE-32937-4 while downloading, the same that affected Grim Fandango Remastered on PS4 a few days ago. Sony confirmed they know about the issue and are already working on a fix.
