Dying Light developer Techland has revealed a few more technical details about its upcoming zombie survival game, including the fact that it will use new technologies like the Kinect and the DualShock 4 lightbar, but also that it's aiming at a 1080p and 60fps experience on both the PS4 and Xbox One.

Dying Light was revealed earlier this year as a next-gen survival experience from the same studio that brought Dead Island or Call of Juarez.

After confirming that the game is running natively at a 1080p resolution on the PS4 over the weekend at VGX 2013, Techland has now talked with GamingBolt about the new title and confirmed that it's aiming at 1080p and a 60fps framerate on both the PS4 and Xbox One.

"We aim to have the final game running at 1080p, 60 fps on both PS4 and Xbox One, and it seems that we will be able to achieve this," Techland's Jakub Klarowicz said. "Obviously, we're still working on the game itself and its optimization, but we aim to provide that kind of experience when the game launches."

Even so, the studio is trying to squeeze in as many features and mechanics as possible in order to deliver a stunning experience on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as on the PC.

"On the other hand, we also wanted to use the extreme processing power of PS4, Xbox One and PC, so these versions use all advancements in the field of graphical fidelity, including our very advanced physically based lighting model," the studio's Tymon Smektala added.

"For regular gamers it might sound like a technical mumbo-jumbo, but it’s something they should really be excited about: thanks to the new lighting model, the whole game world looks extra realistic and instantly gets +10 to immersion."

Last but not least, the game will also use the DualShock 4 lightbar or the new Kinect sensor for certain gameplay functions.

"Of course, we're also using some of the more specific next-gen features, like lightbar and touchpad support or voice recognition, the latter being tied to our in-game noise system (you can draw zombies’ attention just by screaming at them)."

Dying Light is set to debut next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but also for PS3 and Xbox 360.
