DxO Labs have recently updated their popular image edition software, DxO Optics Pro, offering lots of important improvements like denoising capabilities, Facebook export, faster display and new camera support.

Along with the DxO Optics Pro update, the French software developer also updated the DxO FilmPack, a program that allows you to apply various analog film characteristics to your RAW images with the utmost ease.

Through the new update, DxO Labs offers two new legendary film presets. One of them cleverly simulates the now-discontinued Agfa Scala 200x black and white slide film, known for its high level of detail, particular patterning, and an amazing nuanced palette.

The second film preset available with this new DxO FilmPack version manages to reproduce the ultra-vivid color-negative Kodak Ektar 100 analog film with its very fine grain.

Using exclusive calibration technologies, DxO Labs managed to render the grain, quality and style of these two analog films by carefully scanning, digitizing and analyzing photos developed from these films.

In addition to that, DxO FilmPack v4.5 offers even more presets to unleash your creative spirit and create unique photos. The update comes with six new Designer presets for the Expert edition, two of which can also be found in the Essential edition.

The Expert edition also benefits from a new Tone Curve tool that facilitates control of contrast and luminosity as well as an automatic control to protect saturated colors, preserving details and textures in vividly-colored images.

Moreover, the new Export to Facebook feature allows you to share your JPEG images on the popular social network with just a few mouse clicks.

DxO FilmPack Essential and Expert editions are now available for purchase from the DxO Labs online store through a special promotion that ends on December 25, at a price of $49 / €49 / £39 for the Essential Edition and $99 / €99 / £79 for the Expert Edition.

If you want to test it for yourself, you could download DxO FilmPack v4.5, for a full 31-day trial from our website.
