Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Makes Amazing Comeback to WrestleMania

Just when wrestling fans expected it the least, after 7 years of absence, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has put all Hollywood projects aside and is making a comeback to WrestleMania, as he announced on a surprise appearance on Raw Monday.

It was, fans say, the best Valentine’s Day present they could ever ask for: The Rock walking into the ring, telling them that he’d come back for them – and for good, as well.

“As The World’s Most Electrifying Host of WrestleMania XXVII, The Rock will lay the SmackDown on all of the pomp and festivities that makes WrestleMania the world’s greatest, annual pop culture extravaganza,” Miami Herald says of the wrestling event that will take place on Sunday, April 3.

The Rock, who has established himself as a very serious actor since put wrestling behind him, started his speech by explaining the cheering audience why he’d chosen to come back – but only after he made an entrance a star of his magnitude deserves.

“I am back in the middle of this ring because of you,” The Rock said, as the video below will confirm. The reaction to his return was beyond anything but a true fan can understand – that amazing it was.

“Thank you, I love you and it is because of you that I am back in this ring. I give you my word, I am never, ever going away. Simply put, ladies and gentlemen, The Rock is back,” he added.

He also found the time to crack a joke about Justin Bieber, saying organizers wanted him as host (at around the 9-minute mark). Then, as booing from the audience picked up, he said Bieber was “a nice kid.”

“I'm absolutely thrilled and fired up to be the host of WrestleMania. My goal was to partner up with Vince McMahon and WWE to create and deliver something globally entertaining and electrifying,” The Rock said.

“As an actor, entertainer and someone who both loves and has grown up in the sports entertainment business, the opportunity to host 75,000 passionate fans in a live venue, not to mention the millions that will be watching worldwide, is not only thrilling but quite honestly the opportunity of a lifetime. It's going to be one helluva an epic night,” he promised.
