It’s a long while that the world thought of actor Dwayne Johnson as The Rock, the wrestler who wanted to cross over from sports to film. With all that, the latest issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine is here to remind us that, at the end of the day, Johnson remains an athlete, with a piece on his workout and a photospread meant to clear all doubts as to his current physical condition, if any to speak of.

Dwayne, shown on the cover in full workout mode, is also guest editor for this issue of the magazine so, should you too be interested in hearing him speak of how he came to see that hard work always pays, pick up the latest issue of Muscle & Fitness. In the same editorial, the 37-year-old actor also reveals how he picked up his first issue of the magazine when he was just 10 and had big dreams of making it in showbiz.

These dreams now materialized, it’s time Dwayne moved on to telling other boys and men his recipe for success. Speaking of his workout routine, they will be happy to learn that nothing is impossible, as the star himself revealed in an older issue of Men’s Health (via Fit & Healthy). According to Johnson, he doesn’t obsess over working out and sticking to a diet, but, when the time comes to break a sweat, he’s not the guy to skip it or not do it properly.

“Dwayne Johnson warm ups with a pair of 40-pound dumbbells, and seems to like a combination of high reps, short rest periods, and supersets. His workouts are relatively short (45 minutes), but to the point. He favors split bodypart training, working only one or two major muscle groups a day. Although his workout routine is not all about compound movements, it has some good exercises such as military press, back extension, leg press, and preacher curl,” Fit & Healthy says of Dwayne’s idea of a heavy workout.

As for dieting, cheating is essential to this one star. “Dwayne Johnson believes that having a cheat day is very important. His favorite cheat foods are donuts and pizza, but the diet itself is well rounded. He consumes about 1 gram of protein for each pound of his bodyweight, a moderate amount of carbs, and supplements daily with multivitamins, ZMA, joint formula, and glutamine. He also uses protein shakes, while his dietary staples are beef, chicken breast, and vegetables,” the same mag reveals.

I think Dwayne looks fabulous. It's good to see him keep up with his regimen up and that body looking ever so sexy. I know lots of men his age and younger who wish they could look like this. Just beautiful! Let me go, it's getting hot in here.
