Dwayne Johnson isn’t still called “The Rock” for no solid reason, pun intended. The actor is now shooting for “Hercules: The Thracian Wars,” which is due in theaters in 2014, and he’s using his Twitter to reveal the secrets of his workout and diet.

He calls the latter a “demigod diet” and it’s not hard to understand why: Dwayne eats 7 meals a day totaling 3 pounds (1.3 kg) of meat, 14 eggs, rice and a wide assortment of vegetables.

Seeing how he plays a demigod, it makes sense for the already buff Johnson to pack even more muscle mass – and photos he’s posted on his feed confirm that this is the case.

“7 meals a day (+1 shake). Thank U Chef Bogi for all the hard work while Im shooting HERCULES. #DemiGodDiet,” the actor writes.

“My current 22 week diet for the role of HERCULES. Cardio & iron before going to set. (Lion blood is optional;),” he adds in a later post that accompanies a photo of his daily meals.

It details every item on his plate for the 7 meals and the exact quantities.

The Rock also has a daily shake and drinks “1 cup Nemean Lion blood upon rising (served fresh & warm),” with the last part being obviously a joke.

As noted above, The Rock has been keeping his fans up to speed with his progress on the set and has even tweeted photos of himself in character, but they’re taken at such an angle as to make it hard to see the full picture.

However, you can see that the makeup people have done an amazing job at hiding all the tattoos on his incredibly muscular arms and replacing them with scars The Rock says were made by a “satisfied woman with long nails.”

If that’s not enough to get you to want to see “Hercules” when it comes out, perhaps the photo attached to this article will: it’s of Johnson training to get the body of a true demigod.
