There has been rampant speculation that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is going to star as a superhero in a possible DC Comics project. The actor has helped fan the flames by constantly posting hints such as photos or short mysterious messages on his social media.

Now it's finally confirmed: Dwayne is going to play the role in “Shazam,” according to Spanish-language website La Nacion. His words were translated from “It's the interpretation of a character from DC Comics. It's the story of Shazam, but I can't say if I'm playing Shazam or Black Adam...In this case in particular, I believe we will do [the part] justice. I'm putting my heart and soul into this role.”

As you can see, Dwayne is having one last laugh and keeping us guessing about the part that he's going to play but he's at least narrowed it down to Shazam or Black Adam, who are the hero and the antihero of this story.

The actor is keen to get started on the project, and he's putting himself out there on the line with the rest of the DC Comics greatest, “Now it is happening with Superman and Batman. Aquaman and Wonder Woman come. I'm excited and I know fans are also excited. DC and Warner Bros. have great mythology that we will respect, we will create something very cool and good foundation.”

What do you think? Would Dwayne make a better Shazam or a better Black Adam?
