Burg says it was first to the party, offers a SIM-card-enabled watch

Burg, a Dutch company that launched its first smartwatches years ago, has issued a press release to brag that Apple’s iWatch is inferior to its offerings, even though Apple has yet to confirm it is even launching a smart watch.

Blowing their own horn and, at the same time, capitalizing on Apple’s (presumably) delayed introduction of the iWatch, the people at Burg claim they already have what the consumer needs from a smartwatch. And that is a phone inside a watch.

“What makes the Dutch smartwatch, designed by Burg, superior to Samsung's and Apple's designs is that Burg watches carry a regular SIM card, thus making the watch a fully featured, independently functioning phone,” says the Dutch company.

Here comes the fun part. Burg adds, “Its rivals, however, all still require a Bluetooth connection between the watch and the phone. In other words, without the connection, these are just ordinary watches; and there's hardly anything smart about that.”

As if a smartwatch is all about talking to your own hand on the street.

Apple, please don’t allow such nonsense to be posted ever again and create this thing already!
