Today, CCP delivered the latest monthly update to Dust 514. The Uprising 1.7 release comes with exciting additions to the game, weapons, vehicles overhaul and major changes to Factional Warfare.

Dust 514 is a free-to-play first-person shooter developed by CCP Games for the PlayStation 3, and is directly connected to CCP's other game, EVE Online. Player actions in one game affect the political and economic events of the other.

The new update brings some new deadly weapons to the battlefield, a short and medium range combat rifle and a precision weapon designed for field operations where reach is essential.

Vehicles have also been improved, offering better handling and a new process for streamlining vehicle fitting.

A new battlefield mood has also been introduced, adding diversity and variety to Dust 514's maps. While the mercenaries wage war for dominance, distant volcanoes will spew magma and the skies rain debris on the battlefield.

Factional Warfare is where Dust 514 players are able to pick sides in the everlasting conflict among the factions of New Eden. The Uprising 1.7 update raises the stakes by deepening the bonds between Dust 514 and EVE Online.

Players participating in Factional contracts will be awarded Loyalty Points to be redeemed for exclusive faction weapons. Friendly fire has also been implemented, in order to increase tension and battleground danger.

Orbital Strike, once initiated from the ground in Dust, now have to be earned in EVE by capsuleers securing satellites orbiting above the contested planet.

CCP are committed to deliver intense infantry combat, large-scale warfare and deep character development with their monthly updates to the PlayStation 3 free-to-play first-person shooter.

Additional information as well as an in-depth analysis of the changes can be found on the game developer's official blog.
