23-year-old Asiel Rodriquez and 19-year-old Viviana Gonzalez were arrested on suspicion of using counterfeit credit cards to purchase various items from a number of 15 Publix supermarkets from Lee and Collier counties.

Here, we have another incident that shows how easy it is to abuse payment systems.

The suspects paid for consumer goods - cigarettes and groceries - with Green Dot credit cards that had an unreadable magnetic stripe, WinkNews reports.

The store’s representatives entered the cards' details manually and the sales were authorized, but around an hour later the victims received alerts from the financial institution in which they were notified that the transactions had been rejected.

Rodriguez and Gonzalez were charged with scheming to defraud, uttering a counterfeit payment card, fraudulent use of a card, and theft.
