Video game publisher Square Enix has announced that Dungeon Siege III will now be launched in Europe and other connected market on June 17, a short delay over the previously announced date, and that the game will continue to receive improvements in the time left.

Dungeon Siege III will be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC with United States based gamers set to get it on June 14.

Mike Fischer, the serving president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc, said, “Square Enix is committed to delivering the ultimate Dungeon Siege experience.”

He added, “Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action-RPG worthy of its rich heritage.”

Dungeon Siege III is a mix between traditional role-playing game and hack and slash action and the developers at Obsidian have repeatedly said that they are aiming to make an engaging video games that still has the role-playing mechanics that have defined much of their history.

Alongside the delay announcement, more details were also offered on the included cooperative adventure mode.

The PlayStation 3 will get two-player local coop and four-player parties when the friends use the PlayStation Network and at certain points during the game all the players will be asked to vote on the actions that the party should take, from honoring a quest to deciding the fate of characters.

The system sounds pretty similar to that planned by BioWare for the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO.

The official PlayStation blog also says that the PS3 version of the game will have an interface that is very close to that on the PC, allowing the player to quickly change stances in battle and to access all elements of the interface.
