JoWood Productions, as publisher, and DreamCatcher Games, as developer, are
announcing that they are planning to release an expansion to their cult hit Dungeon Lords, with the title The Orb and the Oracle.
Byron Gaum, who is Global Product Marketing Manager at DreamCatcher Games, says that "We have eagerly anticipated releasing a new installment in the Dungeon Lords saga. We're really excited to offer Dungeon Lords fans a new dose of the combat, magic and incredible quests that this fantasy RPG is known for".
The entire saga is created by D.W. Bradley, who is a much respected role playing games author. The title aims to create a universe that is filled with a host of factions and creatures, where saving the world is the only option for a band of un-sung heroes. The game will be the most detailed in the series yet, with meticulously rendered indoor and outdoor environments. It will have both a single player campaign and a robust multiplayer mode, guaranteed to offer
role playing fans a very enjoyable experience.
One of the clearest improvements in the new expansion will be a complete re-working of the combat system. The real time fights will now feature a variety of powerful spells that will both devastate your enemy and enhance the abilities of your own allies. There is also a variety of tweaks to the skills system and to the way characters advance during the game. We are expecting to see a few new and interesting enemies that the player can fight against and quite a few twists in the plot, as well.
The game is set to be launched sometime during winter 2008 for an estimated price of 39.99 dollars. It will most likely require the original game to run. We will have more details on the title and maybe even a demo as the release date nears.
