Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project has been listed on Microsoft's official Xbox Live Arcade website as a future release. This game is a port of the 2002 2.5D side-scrolling action platformer and is rated Mature, like all the other titles in the Duke Nukem series. It sports an 800-Microsoft-Point price tag that translates into approximately ten dollars.

Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project was originally released on the PC and was developed by Sunstorm Interactive and published by ARUSH Entertainment. In this installment, the legendary macho hero, Duke Nukem, must rid New York of Mech Morphix, an evil genius that uses a radioactive slime to create monsters to help him conquer Manhattan Island. The enemies Duke fights range from mutated alligators or giant cockroaches to the series’ hallmark enemies, the Pig Cops.

Fans of the series have a fun array of weapons at their disposal, like The Mighty Boot, Duke's well-known melee attack, a shotgun, an assault rifle, or the X-3000, a weapon that is unlocked if the game is 100 percent completed on ‘Hard’ and that can destroy all enemies on-screen. A level editor, PrismEd, was featured in the PC version, but that never sparked a real creative community around it. It will be interesting to see if it will be included and how it will fare on the Xbox 360.

This is not Duke's first appearance on Xbox Live Arcade, as Duke Nukem 3D was re-released on Microsoft's downloadable-title platform two years ago, with the same rating and price tag. Duke Nukem 3D on the 360 has a very interesting feature that allows players to rewind the game to any previous point in time if death occurs and save videos of gameplay to be shared with friends. This version of the legendary first-person shooter also supports online cooperative multiplayer, as well as the famous Dukematch competitive play.
