The 1993 classic side-scrolling shooter Duke Nukem II is coming to an App Store near you, 3D Realms has announced. Originally developed by Apogee Software, the game will be available this April with improved graphics and a $1.99/€1.89 price tag.

In Duke Nukem II, the player's goal is to proceed through various alien-infested levels collecting items, destroying enemies, etc. At the end of each level, players must defeat a super alien boss. Each episode contains one level where Duke needs to destroy radar dishes to move forward in the game.

Speaking of which, movement mainly consists of jumping onto platforms, climbing ladders, operating elevators and teleporters, as well as hovering over blowing fans and climbing across pipes. Players can receive point bonuses by completing certain achievements.
