Seeing as how Duke Nukem Forever's launch date is approaching, the developer of the game, Gearbox Software, and publisher, 2K Games, have posted the official PC system requirements for the iconic game.

Duke Nukem Forever has been in development for a huge amount of time, with the title being announced back in 1997 by 3D Realms.

The studio, after releasing only a few details over the years, went bankrupt, but the project arrived in the hands of Gearbox Software, the developer behind games like Borderlands or Brothers in Arms.

Now, ahead of the game's expected release this June, the official PC requirements have been revealed to the world, and you can check out both the minimum and the recommended system specifications below.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.0 Ghz Memory: 1 Gb Hard Drive: 10 Gb free Video Memory: 256 MB Video Card: nVidia GeForce 7600 / ATI Radeon HD 2600 Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6 Ghz Memory: 2 Gb Hard Drive: 10 Gb free Video Memory: 512 MB Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS / ATI Radeon HD 3850 Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Besides the things above, Duke Nukem Forever's installation also requires a one-time internet authentication on Valve's Steam digital distribution service.

Additional software like Microsoft's DirectX, Visual C++ Redistributable and even an AMD Dual Core Optimizer program might also be required to run the game properly on the PC.

Duke Nukem Forever was scheduled to appear at the beginning of this month, but Gearbox and 2K Software were forced to delay the game once more, until June, because of unforeseen circumstances.

Now, it seems that Duke Nukem will finally be back next month, on June 10, around the world, and June 14, in North America, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
