References to the iPhone and iPod touch scattered around the Duke Nukem Forever Readme on Steam have spurred speculation that the forthcoming shooter is coming to the App Store, not only on Macs, but also on iDevices.

A touchArcade forum user going by the screen name of 'starjimstar' points out to a paragraph within the DNF readme containing “Apple App Store Additional License Terms”.

“If any Software is provided to you through the Apple Inc. ("Apple") App Store, then the following additional terms and conditions in this paragraph apply,” it reads.

The document - bearing multiple references to Apple, the App Store, and how the Cupertino company may be involved in certain scenarios (such as Software Update) - continues with the following stipulations (emphasis ours):

· In the event of any failure of the Software to conform to the Limited Warranty in this Agreement, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Software. · Except for the foregoing, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Software. · You must comply with the App Store Terms of Service, including the Usage Rules. · The license to the Software is a non-transferable license to use the Software only on an iPhone or iPod touch that you own or control.

Already controversial for spending over a decade in development (actually, it’s approaching a decade and a half, to be precise - 14 years), Duke Nukem Forever promises to resurrect the franchise with an all new adventure filled with new alien monsters, and naughty humor.

The Duke Nukem Forever official web site is currently featuring a trailer filled with the gameplay action of what promises to be a true blockbuster, when the game is (supposed) to launch - June 2011.
