Will it take longer to port than Duke Nukem Forever?

Duke Nukem married Lara Croft... No, really ignoring this totally stupid rumor that fits the left-side picture perfectly we offer another piece of pure speculation: the famous title is going to be available on the Xbox Live Arcade.

George Broussard, of 3D Realms claimed that the company could start working on an Xbox Live version of the famous game, but only if Microsoft showed some interest in that. Broussard's statement sure sounds like "you've got a lot to wait till that happens" if you ask me. In the meantime, we've seen tons of puzzles and all sorts of popular games making their way to the Xbox Live. Why shouldn't we, gamers get the chance to play old-school titles, by making them available online? Duke Nukem 3D may be a 1996 hit title, but it's still played today on the PC and most of the consoles, so the Xbox 360 shouldn't be an exception.

3D Realms has also "fathered" the Prey title, that was also available on Microsoft latest console, so working with them won't be a problem, specially since it's a port we're talking about and not an entirely new game. Imagine having to choose between the latest Halo 3 demo and Duke Nukem 3D while browsing the Xbox Live and counting your points...

What would you choose? Any sane person would go with Halo 3 and feast on its graphical and gameplay achievements. However, some "insane" fans would certainly start downloading the Duke Nukem game and asking the developers for more content, perhaps a new game, if that's not too much trouble!

I suppose that if Microsoft showed any sign that they want Duke Nukem 3D on the Xbox Live Arcade, it would take the producers about 2 or 3 years to port the title, since they've been working on a "new" game for many many years now.
