The guy who was supposed to deliver the cheesy slices of heaven got into an accident, officers got the job done

Opening your front door and coming face to face with police officers who are there not to arrest you or to give your some bad news does not happen all that often. Still, it's not a sci-fi sort of scenario, and the photo next to this article proves it.

Apparently, it was not too long ago that a man in the city of Portland in Oregon had police officers deliver pizza to his home. Mind you, this act of kindness was not part of a set-up.

On the contrary, the police officers really did have just one thing on their mind: make sure that the man would get his pizza before the cheese and the bacon on it would get cold and lose their appeal.

According to Metro, the pizza was supposed to be delivered by a Pizza Hut employee. However, when this man got into an accident, the officers who reported at the scene decided to take matters into their own hands and get the job done themselves.

“Community policing at its finest!” reads the message accompanying this photo on Reddit, and many seem to agree that the police really did a wonderful job saving the pizza lover from hunger.

One can only hope that the police officers did not embarrass themselves by forgetting to deliver the sauce, maybe even a can of soda, together with the cheesy slices of heaven.
