If A&E needed another reason to offer more money to the stars of “Duck Dynasty,” this is it: season 3 finale clocked in at over 10 million viewers, setting a new record for the network, the Washington Post reports.

The episode showing the Robertsons holidaying in Hawaii fared better than the Honey Boo Boo Halloween special, the “Downton Abbey” or “Girls” season finale, and almost as good as History’s “The Bible” finale or TLC’s “Jon and Kate Plus 8” episode in which the two announced their divorce, the publication notes.

In other words, A&E has struck gold with this show, especially since it also stole the crown from the previous record holder for the network, “Storage Wars.”

“‘Duck Dynasty’s’ third-season swan-song also was a hit among 18-to-49-year-olds, who are the currency of A&E ad sales. In that age bracket, Wednesday’s episode also broke A&E records, averaging 5.6 million,” the Post writes.
