To think that A&E network bosses almost didn’t agree to give the Robertson a pay raise when the reality series “Duck Dynasty” really started to pick up. Had negotiations gone south and the Robertsons decided to just quit reality television, A&E would have been missing out on some impressive ratings.

The Wrap reports that this week’s “Duck Dynasty” Christmas special brought in killer ratings for the network, marking a spectacular boost from last year’s.

With 8.9 million people tuning in to see the Robertsons prepare for a very Merry and very hairy Christmas, the special had an improved viewership with 37 percent from last year’s holiday episode.

“In the advertiser-preferred 18-49 demographic, the ‘Duck Dynasty’ Christmas special pulled in 4.5 million viewers, a 15 percent boost over last year’s special. The most recent fourth season of the A&E hit premiered in August with a whopping 11.8 million total viewers — the #1 nonfiction series telecast in cable history,” The Wrap writes.

If you’re a fan of the show and have not been paying attention these past few months, I might as well use the opportunity to point out for you that the Robertsons also have a Christmas music album out now.

You can see a preview for it above so, if you like what you see and hear, make sure you check it out.
