Last weekend, the Duchess of York and Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was caught on tape by a reporter from News of the World as she was asking for bribe and received a down payment for access to her former spouse, who is a UK Representative for Trade and Investment. Shamed, the Duchess left for LA shortly after and, while in the US, she’s also been planning her public apology, People magazine reports.

Sarah Ferguson is working on her “comeback” and she has everything planned to do it by the book, as the saying goes, with an appearance on Oprah. The Duchess will tape her interview with the Queen of Television today, with the episode to air the following week, Ferguson’s representative confirms for the aforementioned magazine. Whether it will also include a formal apology has not been made public to the press but it’s official that she’ll be discussing the bribing scandal in detail.

“Sarah Ferguson’s road to renewing her reputation will take a major leap on Tuesday, when she appears on The Oprah Winfrey Show and talks about her recent scandal, reps for the program have told People. The interview is due to be taped Friday. As it is, Ferguson is already displaying a stiff upper lip, and even a sense of humor, only days after being exposed trying to sell access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. ‘We all make mistakes,’ said the Duchess of York, 50, on Wednesday night at a party in New York for the launch of her new line of children’s books. ‘Yet we go on. We dust ourselves down’,” People writes.

Until now, the Duchess has not yet issued a formal apology for the scandalous video which saw her sell Prince Andrew to a man she believed was a businessman looking for a sweet deal and the upper hand on the competition. Sources close to her said shortly after the footage went online that she was terribly upset about it and that she regretted everything she’d done, only now realizing how much she’d hurt people she cared about. The other day, as we also reported, other sources said Ferguson had called her best friends crying, to apologize.

“A distraught Duchess of York poured her heart out in an emotional phone call from the United States yesterday, sobbing: ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.’ Speaking to her most trusted confidantes, Sarah Ferguson apologized for the embarrassment she had heaped on her family and friends after being exposed offering access to Prince Andrew for £500,000. Those close to the shamed Duchess say they are worried about her state of mind. Friends describe her as ‘fragile,’ ‘desperate’ and ‘in a very bad place’,” the Daily Mail wrote a while back, as we also reported.
