Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was not invited to Prince William and Katherine Middleton’s wedding a couple of weeks ago because of the bribing scandal she was involved in last year. Though she saw it coming, she didn’t take the royal snub lightly.

Speaking to Oprah just recently, Sarah says that she was very hurt about not being invited to the wedding because, even though she’s divorced from Prince Andrew, she still considers herself part of the family.

Plus, she wanted to be there for her daughters and she would have loved to be included in the event, she reveals.

As some of you may already know, Ferguson has her own reality series debuting on Oprah’s OWN network, focusing on her financial problems and even the aforementioned media scandal.

As such, it makes sense for her to promote it with an appearance on Oprah as well. The topic of the royal wedding was also expected to come up.

“I was not invited,” Ferguson tells Oprah of the royal wedding, as the video below will confirm.

“I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia... the jungle embraced me. [It] was so difficult. Because I wanted to be there with my girls… to be getting them dressed and to go as a family,” she adds.

As we also noted a few days ago, some reports suggest the horrible fascinator Princess Beatrice wore was her mom’s way of getting even with the Royal Family, her revenge by making Bea steal the thunder of William and Kate.

Back on the topic of the snub, the Duchess says, “Also, it was so hard, because the last bride up that aisle was me.”

“When Andrew went with the girls, we were talking all morning and he was saying, ‘It’s okay. Just remember we had such a good day. Our wedding was so perfect.’ Because we’re such a unit together. He made me feel very part of the day on April the 29th,” Ferguson further says.

She also draws a comparison to Princess Diana, who also couldn’t be there at the wedding, to see her son walk down the aisle. Check out this part of the Oprah interview below.
