The main runway at Dublin Airport has been closed down earlier today, after a cargo plane's nose wheel failed.
The BinAir aircraft has registered a landing-gear failure that sent the plane's nose touching the tarmac.
The BinAir plane, manufactured by the Fairchild-based Metroliner company was coming in from Kent and was carrying a lab rat cargo. The News Tribune writes that none of the two pilots on board has been hurt.
As several flights were delayed and five flights were canceled, a back-up runway was opened up. The Dublin Airport Authority has announced that the runway is now open and flights will resume as normal.
“Our main runway has re-opened following this morning's incident involving a cargo flight. Flight operations are continuing as normal,” officials wrote on Twitter.
