DIC - Dubai Internet City, announced last week that Microsoft Gulf will be a strategic partner of this year's Gitex Technology Week 2010, one of the most dynamic ICT exhibitions and a platform for international business across the Middle East, African, Indian and South Asian markets.

Microsoft will showcase its latest generation of technology innovations for consumers and enterprises, at the event that will take place at Dubai Internet City, from 17-21 October.

About this partnership, Malek Al Malek, the Managing Director of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, said:

“As we complete our 10th year as the region’s leading ICT cluster, we will remain focused on supporting the developments of our business partners while embracing technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the event, visitors to the company's stand will have the opportunity to see all of Microsoft’s cloud-based novelties, for consumers and for businesses as well.

Charbel Fakhoury, the Regional General Manager at Microsoft Gulf, said that “Microsoft has a long standing partnership with Dubai Internet City and are pleased to extend our support on the occasion of their 10th anniversary.

“At this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, we will be showcasing our cloud based innovations both for consumers and businesses which will be the catalyst of the information age.

“For Microsoft this year, it’s about technology and product innovation and engaging with our regional partners, customers and governments to help drive socio-economic growth in the region.”

Windows Live and Office Live as well as Microsoft’s newest browser - Internet Explorer 9, will be demonstrated to the public, as part of today's new trend of digital lifestyle, that uses technology to connect the PC, Phone and TV.

Also, the long-awaited Kinect for Xbox 360 will be presented to the attending public, as well as the Windows Phone 7 - touchscreen and sensor based technologies, and the latest PC devices and prototypes from the Microsoft Windows platform.

Besides being on the Dubai Internet City premises, a Microsoft stand will also be present in Business Solutions Hall 7 to present its Cloud and Enterprise Solutions technologies.

Another DIC pavilion guests will be industry leaders Hewlett Packard (HP) and Yahoo! Maktoob.
