YotaPhone, the long-awaited smartphone from Russian maker Yota Devices, has been finally confirmed to make an official appearance before the end of this year.

The handset, the first in the world to feature an LCD and eInk dual-screen layout, has been confirmed to launch internationally before Christmas, a recent article on TechCrunch reads.

The handset has been unveiled for the first time last year and was already showcased at CES, but no official confirmation on its release timeframe has been provided until now.

When available, the phone will be unique, that’s for sure, but only due to the aforementioned dual-screen form factor.

The hardware specs that it will employ, however, won’t be impressive at all: a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch 720p screen on the front, and a 1800mAh battery inside. I can only hope that it will sport an appealing price tag.
