Indian OEM iBall has just announced the immediate availability of the Andi 5.5N2 QUADRO smartphone powered by Google’s Android platform.

Fonearena reports that the iBall’s smartphone is now available for purchase via major online retailers, including Snapdeal and Shopclues for Rs 13,215 off contract, which is about $215 or €155.

Customers in India will be pleased to know that iBall Andi 5.5N2 QUADRO offers dual-SIM support with dual standby, which means that users will be able to fit in two SIM cards in the smartphone, but once they take a call on one line, the other one will become inactive.

Specs-wise, Andi 5.5N2 QUADRO could have been slightly better featured considering its price tag. The smartphone is equipped with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is probably provided by MediaTek.

In addition, it packs 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The smartphone features dual stereo speakers, which is a welcomed addition to the mid-range Andi 5.5N2 QUADRO. There’s also an impressive 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back which features LED flash, autofocus and video recording.

On the front, the iBall Andi 5.5N2 QUADRO sports a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls. There’s also a high-capacity 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery inside, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Last but not least, the phablet boasts a large 5.5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display, which is the main reason that it costs a bit more than other quad-core smartphones recently launched in India.

Software-wise, iBall Andi 5.5N2 QUADRO ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, and will probably never get another major upgrade until it reaches end of life status.

Other highlights of the mid-range smartphone include 3G HSPA+ (42Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as GPS with AGPS support and microUSB.
