Spice Mobiles has just launched one of the cheapest Android smartphones available in India. The Spice Smart Flo Edge Mi-349 is now available for purchase via major retailers across the country for only Rs 3,099 outright, which is about $50 or €35.

Although it has been priced very low, the smartphone ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box, which is rather disappointing. The reason might be the phone’s low hardware configuration.

According to fonearena, Spice Smart Flo Edge Mi-349 is equipped with a 1 GHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 256MB of RAM and 512MB of internal memory.

It also sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 320 pixels resolution, a 1.3-megapixel rear-facing camera and VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Last but not least, the entry-level smartphone offers dual-SIM (GSM / GSM) with Dual Standby, FM Radio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 1500 mAh battery.
