Samsung is about to introduce another mid-range Android smartphone, the Galaxy Core. The device has recently emerged in Russia, which makes us believe the handset maker will be launching the Galaxy Core in Europe very soon.

Russian site Hi-tech.mail.ru has just published the first press render of the Galaxy Core, an unannounced handset that Samsung plans to launch in the coming weeks.

According to the cited source, Samsung Galaxy Core is expected to hit shelves sometime in mid-May and has been price at around 12,990 rubles outright, which is about $415 or €320.

However, we should take into account the fact that prices in Russia are a bit higher than the rest of Europe, so we expect that the Galaxy Core will be much cheaper in other regions.

Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy Core will also be launched in Asia, probably India and China. Given the fact that the smartphone comes with dual-SIM capability, there’s a high chance it will go on sale in emerging markets as well.

Spec-wise, Samsung Galaxy Core (GT-I8262) is a mid-range device that does not stand out from other Android smartphones in its range. The only selling points of the phone might be the low price and dual-SIM capability, not necessarily in that order.

Although Samsung has yet to make it official, we already know that the Galaxy Core will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The phone also sports a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash.

Samsung Galaxy Core measures 129.3 x 67.56 x 8.95 mm and weighs 140g. It also comes packed with Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP support, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
