Although Philips is less known for its smartphones, it appears that the company plans to launch a new Android phone, the W8355.
The main selling points of the smartphone are dual-SIM capability
and the large 5.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen that displays 960 x 540 pixels resolution.
The bad news is Philips W8355 ships with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, and is unlikely to receive a Jelly Bean upgrade after launch.
According to UnwiredView
, Philips W8355 will be launched in China initially, but other regions might get it as well.
It is also worth mentioning the smartphone is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM.
The W8355 sports a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
