Chinese OEM Oppo is widely known for its cheap prices on Android smartphones. Given the high-demand of its products, the company is able to reduce the retail price of its handsets to ridiculous amounts.

The company recently made its debut on the Indian market with smartphones like Oppo N1 and Oppo R1, but the next handset launched by the Chinese company goes to Indonesia, fonearena reports.

The Oppo Joy is an entry-level Android smartphone that would soon go on sale in Indonesia for only IDR 1,699,000 outright, which is about ($145 / €105).

At first glance, Oppo Joy may seem a good deals at such a low price, but browsing through the phone’s specs sheet, it’s clear that this device is aimed at first time smartphone users or those who can’t afford slightly expensive Android devices.

First of all, the Oppo Joy ships with Color OS onboard, which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Potential customers should know that the budget-friendly smartphone is only available in black and white color options.

For the time being, Oppo did not reveal any plans regarding the availability of the entry-level smartphone in other countries, but we expect it to be officially introduced in India as well.

Aside from the low-price, Oppo Joy may also appeal to Android fans due to the fact that it comes with dual-SIM support. But keep in mind that the smartphone accepts two different types of SIM, normal and micro.

Surprisingly, the smartphone offers HSPA+ connectivity, which means users will also be able to make and receive video calls. Faster data speed transfer is another advantage of having a 3G smartphone.

On the inside, Oppo Joy is equipped with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor probably provided by MediaTek, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The smartphone also includes microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display support 480 x 800 pixels resolution, while the 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back comes with LED flash and video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA camera in the front for video calls.

Other connectivity options offered by Oppo Joy include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and GPS with A-GPS. The phone is powered by a 1700 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by Oppo.

We will keep an eye out for any news on Oppo Joy’s availability in other countries, so stay tuned for more details on the matter.
