Nokia Moneypenny was briefly mentioned about two weeks ago, along with the fact that it would be among the first smartphones powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone Blue out of the box.

The previous leak only highlighted the fact that Nokia plans to launch a new wave of smartphones, Asha and Lumia. These devices emerged with the following codenames: Goldfinger, Moneypenny, Normandy, Phantom, and Spinel.

Nothing about the phones’ specs is known for the moment, but we suspect that some of them will be unveiled in early January, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 trade fair.

Until then, the source that leaked these codenames for the first time, evleaks, has recently come up with more details on one of the devices that surfaced earlier this month, namely Nokia Moneypenny.

According to evleaks, Nokia currently plans to release a dual-SIM handset powered by Windows Phone platform. The Moneypenny would be the first of its kind, not to mention that it will also be among the first smartphones that will ship with Windows Phone Blue onboard.

“Nokia planning a dual-SIM version of Windows Phone Blue-powered Moneypenny,” evleaks says.

For the time being, no additional details are available, but as the above quote suggests, Nokia will launch at least two Moneypenny models.

The dual-SIM version is likely to go on sale in emerging markets, such as India and China, whereas the single-SIM variant will be rolled out globally. Still, these are just mere speculations, so take them with a grain of salt, at least until more sources close to the matter confirm the information.

In related news, Nokia Normandy, another device mentioned by evleaks more than two weeks ago, appeared in a press render a few days ago and looks to be the missing link between Nokia’s Lumia and Asha series of handsets. We will keep an eye out for any additional info, so stay tuned for more.
