Nokia India has just announced the upcoming availability of the Asha 205 dual-SIM feature phone. Nokia fans looking for a cheap handset will be able to purchase this one starting December 24.

The Asha 205 is aimed at emerging markets, which is why it will be available in India for only Rs 3,499 outright, which is about $65 or €50.

The handset comes with full portrait QWERTY keyboard and dedicated Facebook button, which allows users to quickly access the social network service while on the move.

Additionally, Nokia has introduced a new service called SLAM, which enables fast content sharing over Bluetooth.

With SLAM, users will be able to share photos, music and videos with their friends almost instantly via Bluetooth.

The service does not require users to pair their mobile phones and the recipient does not need to have SLAM installed.

Nokia Asha 205 comes with dual-SIM capability, 2.4-inch display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution, 64MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone also packs a VGA camera with video recording and a 1020 Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 890 hours of standby time or up to 11 hours of talk time.

Keep in mind that, like most Asha handsets, the Asha 205 comes with access to 40 free EA Games, which are available for download via Nokia Store.

“Young consumers are increasingly using Facebook for communication, socializing and entertainment. The launch of the Nokia Asha 205responds to this growing demand and gives a unique option for consumers at an affordable price point. People who use NokiaAsha devices are hyper-social and we are proud to partner with Facebook to improve the user experience further with the introduction of the Facebook button,” said Mr.Viral Oza, director marketing, Nokia India.
