The cheapest feature phone launched by Nokia, the dual-SIM Nokia 225 has finally arrived in India, one of the largest markets for the Finnish company.

Having been purchased by Microsoft, it would have been more appropriate to say that Microsoft has launched the Nokia 225 Dual SIM in India, but the team from Nokia seems to have remained the same under Microsoft’s lead, so technically nothing has changed.

Anyway, those who have yet to get into the smartphone world will be pleased to know that Nokia 225 Dual SIM is available for purchase in India for just Rs 3,199 ($55 / €40) outright.

The device has been advertised by the Finnish company and Microsoft as the cheapest feature phone with Internet connectivity. There are many feature phones way cheaper than the Nokia 225, but few also offer this feature.

According to fonearena, those who wish to grab the Nokia 225 Dual SIM will definitely want to take advantage of Airtel’s deal, which offers those who purchase the feature phone 100 free minutes (Airtel to Airtel), 400 free National SMSs and 50 MB free data for 1 month (applicable for another month on recharge of Rs 50) for new Airtel prepaid users (activation less than 30 days).

Keep in mind that Airtel’s deal on Nokia 225 Dual SIM is available until June 30, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of the offering.

But that is not all. Nokia has also confirmed that the feature phone is preloaded with lots of social apps, games and other entertainment software, including Facebook, Twitter, Block Breaker 3, Asphalt 6, Assassins Creed 3, The Avengers and Real Football 2012.

When it comes to specs, Nokia 225 Dual SIM is far from the most entry-level smartphone, but that’s the idea anyway. The phone comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD display that supports 320 x 240 pixels resolution.

It offers dual-SIM capability (2G / 2G) with dual standby support, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Nokia 225 Dual SIM only supports GSM 900 / 1800 bands, but it offers additional connectivity options, such as Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm audio jack and USB 1.1. There’s also a 2-megapixel photo snapper on the back with video recording capabilities.

Last but not least, the feature phone is powered by a 1200 mAh battery, which should provide users with up to 27 days of standby time or up to 21 hours talk time with dual SIM.
