Nokia 206 was officially announced back in late November and the Finnish company promised that the feature phones would be available for purchase beginning Q4 2012 for around $65/€45.

According to Nokia, this budget-friendly handset is aimed at the emerging market, hence the cheap price and low features.

Although Nokia 206 made it to Nigeria and Indonesia last year, it looks like Indian customers had to wait until late January to get the phone.

Infibeam is among the first major retailers that offers the Nokia 206 in India. Customers who wish to purchase the feature phone should know that it only costs Rs 3,619 off contract, which is about $65/€50.

Other Indian retailers may sell the low-budget handset, but Infibeam seems to have one of the best offers on the mobile phone. Check it out here.

Nokia 206 has been confirmed to arrive in black, cyan, white, magenta and yellow, but for the time being, Infibeam only offers the white version. However, we expect that the retailer will stock additional Nokia 206 color versions in the next few days.

Nokia has previously announced that it will launch two 206 versions: a single-SIM and a dual-SIM model. As expected, Indian customers will be able to grab the latter rather than the former.

Specs-wise, Nokia 206 is far from being impressive. The phone sports a small 2.4-inch display that supports 320 x 240 pixels resolution and a 1.3-megapixel rear camera.

On the inside, the handset packs up to 10MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone’s 1100 mAh Li-Ion battery has been rated by the manufacturer for up to 680 hours of standby time or up to 20 hours of talk time.

Nokia 206 ships with several useful apps and services, including Nokia Slam, Xpress Browser, Nokia Life, Facebook, eBuddy and Nokia Store.
