The smartphone comes with support for 21 Indian languages

Indian OEM Intex has just announced that a new affordable smartphone will soon be available for purchase in the country, the Aqua Star II HD.

The smartphone will soon be available for purchase through all major retailers across the country, in different colors (Champagne, Grey, Silver and White), for just Rs 6,590 ($105 / €90) outright. Considering its low price, Android fans shouldn't expect too many high-end features to be included in this device.

For starters, the smartphone ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box. On the positive side, the Intex Aqua Star II HD features support for no less than 21 Indian languages.

“Through this new launch we aim to define our purpose of unleashing an economically attractive and technologically luring smartphone in the market. Our latest offering – the Aqua Star II HD – is available at an amazing price point.

3G connectivity and 5MP camera in the front

Moving on to specs, Intex Aqua Star II HD sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

On the inside, the smartphone packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, possibly provided by MediaTek, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

In addition, the smartphone features microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). On the back side, Intex Aqua Star II HD has an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash and and video recording.

There's also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front, which is perfect for video calls and selfies. It's also worth mentioning Intex Aqua Star II HD is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery and offers dual-SIM support, among other things.
