HTC introduced its high-end One E8 in India last month, but did not confirm when exactly the smartphone would go on sale in the country.

Well, without any further teasing, it looks like HTC India has confirmed that the One E8 is now available for purchase in the country through multiple authorized resellers and major online retailers.

The bad news is HTC One E8 has been priced slightly higher than it was initially expected. Even though the Taiwanese handset maker confirmed last month that the smartphone should go on sale for Rs 34,990 ($570 / €425) outright, there are retailers that offer it for Rs 35,999, which is about $585 or €435.

Although there’s only a small difference between the suggested retail price announced by HTC and the price for which the One E8 can actually be purchased in India, we kind of expected these resellers to offer some discounts that would make the deal more appealing to customers.

Anyway, potential customers who aren’t bothered by the smartphone’s high price can now purchase the HTC One E8 via Flipkart for Rs 35,999 ($585 / €435). It’s also worth mentioning that while Flipkart has the smartphone in stock, standard delivery time is set to 6-7 business days.

Specs-wise, the HTC One E8 is the plastic version of the One M8, the company’s current flagship smartphone, hence the high price tag.

The only difference is the fact that HTC dropped the dual 4-megapixel camera on the back for the One E8 and put in a regular 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

On the inside, the Indian version of HTC One E8 packs a powerful 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The high-tier handset packs 16GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via the microSD card slot. The One E8 boasts the same hyper-vibrant 5-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the front, there’s a secondary 5-megapixel camera that turns the HTC One E8 in the perfect tool for taking selfies. As expected, the smartphone offers dual-SIM capability, FM Radio function and 3.5mm audio jack.

When it comes to connectivity, HTC One E8 offers quite a range of options, including 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, as well as NFC (Near Field Communication).
