HTC Desire 310 leaked online for the first time in late January, but it was only made official in early March. The smartphone has been confirmed to arrive in Europe, but it looks like the HTC has decided to bring it to India first.

According to AndroidOS, HTC Desire 310 is now available for purchase via multiple major retailers across the country, including Snapdeal and The Mobile Store.

Potential customers can grab the smartphone for only Rs 11,350 ($190 / €135) outright, which is not too much if we take into consideration what it has to offer.

The only downside of the HTC Desire 310 is the fact that it ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and it will probably remain on this version until it gets discontinued.

Some of its competitors on the Indian market, like the Motorola Moto G, already have Android 4.4.2 KitKat running. India will be a tough market for HTC Desire 310, as chances are very slim that the device will become popular.

Other than that, HTC Desire 310 is a mid-range smartphone that offers dual-SIM support, which is mandatory for the Indian market.

In addition, the device packs a large enough 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Connectivity-wise, the smartphone provides the full package, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.

When it comes to hardware, it is worth mentioning that HTC Desire 310 is one of the few smartphones launched by the Taiwanese company that comes equipped with a MediaTek chipset.

HTC has confirmed that the Desire 310 will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, which is complemented by a Mali-400MP2 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone only packs 4GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card. On the back, HTC Desire 310 sports an average 5-megapixel photo snapper that lacks flash. A secondary VGA camera in the front is included as well.

Last but not least, the Desire 310 drains energy from a decent 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users with up to 852 hours of standby time or up to 11 hours of talk time.

As we have mentioned earlier, HTC Desire 310 will be released in Europe next month and has been priced at €150 ($206) outright.
