Shortly after announcing the upcoming availability of B63 smartphone with Jelly Bean, Indian handset maker Byond launched two new handsets, the B51 and B54.

According to NDTV Gadgets, these are budget-friendly devices, so Android fans that value specs over price should not get their hopes too high.

Both Byond smartphones ship with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system out of the box and pack 1 GHz single-core processors, along with 256MB of RAM.

The B51 sports a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, whereas the B54 comes with a slightly larger 4.0-inch touchscreen. They both feature 3-megapixel rear cameras and 1.3-megapixel front-facing cameras for video calls.

Byond B51 and B54 will soon be available in India via major retailers across the country for only Rs 4,999 ($95/€70) and Rs 5,799 ($110/€80), respectively.
