BLU Products is definitely not among the well-known smartphone manufacturers, even though the company claims its VIVO 4.3 is already very popular.

The VIVO 4.3 Android smartphone was launched on the market earlier this year and BLU Products has just announced that a new handset powered by Google’s mobile platform will arrive next month, the VIVO 4.65 HD.

As the name suggests, the upcoming smartphone is a slight improvement of the previous VIVO 4.3 model, though overall it does not stand out. Obviously, the main difference is the larger 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display.

Aside from that, the VIVO 4.65 HD will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 operating system out of the box and will pack a 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 Cortex-A9 processor.

In addition, the smartphone will feature 1GB of RAM 3G/HSPA support, an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Another strong point of the VIVO 4.65 HD is the fact that it comes with “true” dual-SIM capability, which allows both SIMs to be active and receive calls at the same time.

According to BLU Products, the unlocked version of VIVO 4.65 HD will begin shipping to major US retailers in January of 2013, with a suggested retail price of $300/€225 attached to it. The smartphone will also be launched in Latin America, and parts of Asia, soon after.

“We are thrilled as we continue to add to the successful series of VIVO smartphone devices using Super AMOLED Technology displays, resulting in remarkably bright and vivid color reproduction, with the best viewing experience available on a mobile phone today. BLU is determined to continue to bring the best technology and specs available on mobile devices, with several incredible product launches coming in the first half of 2013,” said Samuel-Ohev-Zion, CEO of BLU Products.
