It looks like another wireless router capable of communicating over more than one band has been released, and TRENDnet is the maker. Not that it's so shocking, given the company's history on the Wi-Fi market. The latest wireless networking device to leave TRENDnet's labs is none other than the AC1200 Dual Band Wireless Router.

It bears the part number of TEW-811DRU and can create two networks at the same time.

One of them is a Wireless AC network which has a performance of 867 Mbps, the other reaches 300 Mbps over Wireless N.

"The average home now has over ten wireless connected devices," said Zak Wood, director of marketing for TRENDnet.

"TRENDnet's TEW-811DRU, is designed to effortlessly handle network traffic for the demands of today and tomorrow."

The TEW-811DRU can connect to anything with a working Wi-Fi sensor, from computers to mobile devices.

What's more, is has USB connectivity, allowing flash drives or network-attached storage devices (NAS), or even portable/external HDDs/SSDs, to be accessed by everything linked to the router.

Furthermore, the back has Gigabit Ethernet (four Gigabit LAN ports, one Gigabit WAN port), for high-speed wired connections. Wi-Fi is still central though, with Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) possible at the touch of a button.

Other features include parental controls, Whole Home Coverage (high power amplifiers to extend wireless coverage), and Guest Network Access (sets up isolated networks, for guests, while keeping the core network secure and separate), QoS Management, IPv6 support, WDS support, DDNS support for dyndns.com & no-ip.com, and Samba / FTP server support.

The official product page has more information on the TRENDnet TEW-811DRU dual-band wireless router.

As for aesthetics, the device looks normal enough, with a black shell and LED indicator lights. It measures 45 x 120 x 164 mm (1.8 x 4.7 x 6.5 inches) and weighs 395 g (14 oz).
