Netgear may already have a more or less complete wireless router product family, but it never hurts to have more options, so we won't mind the arrival of the new R6250 Smart WiFi Router.

Equipped with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band support, it doesn't have the best performance possible, but gets close enough while not costing too much.

Gigabit Ethernet ports are included as well, of course, along with a USB 3.0 connector.

Everything, from the 802.11ac WiFi to the physical connectors, is run by a dual-core 800 MHz engine.

Devices with their own ability to tap into both wireless bands will best exploit the technology.

"At NETGEAR, we recognize that your home network today has become increasingly complex and must support multiple diverse Internet-enabled devices - smartphones, tablets, computers, game consoles and more — with an ever-expanding library of digital content," said Sandeep Harpalani, NETGEAR director of product marketing for core networking.

The price of the newcomer is $169.99 / 130 – 169.99 Euro.
