Shia LaBeouf is in trouble again. Last night, during the Broadway musical “Cabaret,” the actor was arrested on a variety of charges that indicate he might have been under the influence. He was escorted from the theater in handcuffs and, once at the police station, tried to pull the “don’t you know who I am?” card on the arresting officers.

Page Six reports that the incident and the arrest occurred at about 9:30 in the evening, at the Studio 54 theater. LaBeouf was charged with criminal trespass, harassment, and disorderly conduct and, as of the time of writing, is probably still in custody.

Police sources reveal that LaBeouf was smoking inside the theater, which is against the law. At one point, he also began talking loudly and interrupting the play and, even worse, smacking people in the audience on the back of the head.

When the officers arrived on the scene, they found him “very agitated” and “incoherent,” which would confirm the theory that he was under the influence. They asked him to get up from his seat and accompany them, but he responded with curses. When he did try to get up, he wasn’t able to walk and fell flat on his face.

He was escorted from the theater in handcuffs and taken to the police station, where things got even weirder. Page Six notes that the officers had to make efforts to get LaBeouf to stop crying, but that they also put him in a face mask eventually because he would not stop spitting at them.

Then, when they arrived at the station, the actor tried to use his celebrity card to intimidate them into not booking him. “I have millions and millions of dollars and attorneys and I’m going to ruin your career,” he told the cop who was fingerprinting him, promising he would “[expletive] him up” and calling him a gay slur.

Various people at the theater, including one of the actors in the play, have confirmed the arrest and there’s also photographic evidence of it available on social media. LaBeouf is yet to address the incident in any way.

However, if his past behavior is any indication, we should probably expect another #IAMSORRY art exhibit and more crocodile tears cried in complete silence in what could possibly be the second most awkward number of performance art.

Last year, LaBeouf was involved in a huge plagiarizing scandal and, instead of apologizing like normal folk, he staged an entire number of performance art at a gallery, where he sat on a chair, with a paper bag on his head, while people would pay to insult him. His only reaction to whatever they told him was to cry and stare blankly at them.

Incidentally, this happened right before the big premiere of a new Shia LaBeouf movie and, as you probably know, he has a new one coming out this fall, “Fury.” So here’s some food for thought: could this be another publicity stunt or is LaBeouf really in trouble? What do you think?
