Nicolas Cage’s mugshot: he was charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace

Actor Nicole Cage got into some trouble over the weekend, when he got into an argument with his wife in New Orleans, and then dared police officers to arrest him for it and for disturbing the peace. That, they did.

TMZ reports that the actor had probably been drinking the entire night since, before getting into the argument with his wife, he popped by a tattoo parlor, asking to get inked.

Surveillance video shows Nic causing quite a scene at the parlor, with his wife, Alice, appearing to beckon him to go home.

Sources tell the e-zine that Cage was telling people that he didn’t know where he lived, in the sense that he couldn’t remember the address of the apartment he and Alice were renting in New Orleans.

Some minutes later, a cabbie called the police after witnessing Cage grab Alice’s arm as he tried to lead her to the building where he believed they were living – but which wasn’t actually the good address.

When police officers arrived, because no one saw any mark on Alice’s arm and given that she made it clear she didn’t want to file a complaint, they told Cage to go home and sleep it off – which is when he started asking for trouble.

“The police came and told Nic and his wife to just go home. That’s when Nic allegedly told cops, ‘Why don’t you just arrest me?’” TMZ reports.

“The cops then reiterated that he and his wife should just go home. Cage then repeated his dare to cops,” says the e-zine.

“At that point, police took Nic into custody and charged him with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace,” TMZ adds.

Cage was arrested and booked, with bail set at $11,000. Reports online have it that he wasn’t taken in a jail cell, but spent the hours before he was bailed with police officers, chatting away.

The aforementioned media outlet says Alice doesn’t plan to file charges, saying there was no physical contact during the altercation.
