What better way to hide from cops than crash your car, run into the forest, climb a tree and pretend you are an owl until they bring you down with a chainsaw. Well, almost any way besides this one would have been better in this man's case as he managed to only make his situation worse.

Troy, A. Prockett, a 37-year-old from Hudson, was charged with a rather significant row of accusations after he was found guilty of drunk driving and crashing his car, escaping law enforcement officers and having to be brought down from a tree by firefighters in order to be arrested.

Being under the influence of alcohol, Troy lost the control of his Nissan Maxima and hit a snowbank near the breakdown lane. A state trooper close to the scene saw the whole happening and rapidly intervened in order to avoid any major collisions, but the crashed car already turned around in full speed.

He activated his lights and proceeded to chase the car whose driver was desperately trying to escape. When he finally stopped, the driver got out of the car and started running into the woods leaving everything behind. Police officers arriving at the scene searched his car, that reeked of alcohol, and then started searching for him with trained dogs.

Officers searched for more than one hour until they finally found Prockett's footprints in the snow, and him hiding in a tree. When the cops demanded that he descended, he asked them if they had caught the driver of the car while climbing higher and higher up the tree, notes WCVB.

In his slurred speech, Troy told the officers that he was not the driver, but that in fact the driver carried him up the tree, and then rumbled something about being an owl.

He refused surrendering and started shaking the tree branches exclaiming “Look, it's snowing” while covering the officers in white. After continuously refusing to leave his owl-like behavior and the tree in order to surrender, officers called in firefighters to cut the tree branches and get him down.

After finally being caught, the man admitted to being afraid of the cops because of several prior drunk driving charges. He was then ticketed for marked lane violations and charged with third offense drunken driving, failure to stop for police, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of property damage and disturbing the peace, notes WCVB.

Police officers were slightly amused while quoting the man who replied to the question about his little adventure with “Sooooo, I just decided to go for a little run.” According to a call got by the police before the incident, the man was driving with his daughter in the car, and the girl was nowhere to be found. When asked about her whereabouts, he said “Awww see, now you are just trying to get me to talk so you can add more charges” and then finally revealed she was out of harm's way.
