Dropbox has developed quite a passion for photos, it's the only thing that it's been talking about this year. First it introduced automatic photo uploads, in the desktop and mobile apps, then it updated the desktop website to showcase those photos better, with slideshows and prettier thumbnails. Earlier this week, it got around to the mobile website, it too got better thumbnails, which filled the available space as much as possible, and a slick slideshow feature. The mobile apps already had photo previews, aka slideshows, but the latest version, which is a complete redesign, puts them front and center, quite literally. The app toolbar had three sections up until now, files, uploads and favorites. Now, the three tabs are "files," "camera uploads" and "favorites." The photos section lists all the photos in your camera folder on your phone along with the ones you've uploaded to Dropbox. Dropbox has been working on making photos a central feature of the service. It remains to be seen if it pays off, but one thing is for sure, Dropbox is not slowing down.
