A new flavor of the already popular Dropbox for Android mobile application is now available for download for mobile phone users, namely Dropbox build 1.0.9.3, which adds a nice range of new features, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese languages into the mix. With the new release of the application, Dropbox is set to make the application internationalized, hence the addition of more languages into the mix.

“We're preparing for our upcoming 1.1 release, and would love everyone to test the new features, especially if you're a native speaker of Spanish, French, German, or Japanese. Please let us know how it works for you, or if there is anything that has a better translation,” the company notes on their forum.

Before the 1.1 release hits the Android Market, users can download the new flavor of the mobile software from Dropbox' forums, try it out, and provide feedback so that the development team would be able to improve the app.

However, Internationalization (French, Spanish, German, Japanese) is not the only feature that has been added into the mix, as users would also enjoy compatibility with the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system from Google, as well as a range of other enhancements.

Some of the improvements it comes with would include: o Better checking for file modifications before uploading o Improved character set support o Displays error message when SD card is full o Dropbox service no longer starts up on all network changes o Dropbox no longer lists itself as an app it can share data to

The app comes with a lock code, so that users would enjoy increased protection. Moreover, the new release changes some permissions, including the inclusion of one that prevents the phone from going to sleep while downloading or uploading.

The release notes for the Dropbox for Android Build 1.0.9.3 application also include: - Internationalization (French, Spanish, German, Japanese) - Lock Code now protects your Dropbox from prying eyes. - Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet compatibility fixes - Removed permission to read phone state and identity, since it's no longer needed. - Added permission to prevent phone from sleeping, so uploads & downloads finish when your screen turns off. - Mobile Tour gives an overview of Dropbox features on first login.
