Dropbox has just announced the release of a new flavor of its mobile application for devices running under Google’s Android operating system. The new Dropbox for Android 2.0 brings along a load of new features, starting with an improved interface.

The mobile application has been completely redesigned to offer a better experience than before, the development team explains.

Some of the main enhancements the new Dropbox mobile client brings along include:

- Favorites: Want to make sure a file is always on your phone? Star it for quick offline access.

- Bulk upload: No need to upload files one at a time. Select multiple photos and videos to be uploaded in the background.

-File renaming: Simple as it sounds – files and folders can now be renamed.

- Ice Cream Sandwich support: Optimized for the newest and tastiest Android release yet: Ice Cream Sandwich.

- Single-tap access to actions: All file and folder actions are available from a single tap.

However, it appears that these are only some of the new features that Android users will benefit from after installing the new version of the application.

They will also enjoy an improved gallery view, along with the possibility to export to local storage or to upload from there. Moreover, the application comes with a variety of stability improvements, as well as with a series of bug fixes inside.

Not to mention that the mobile client has been optimized for user on devices that run under the newly released Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, a feature introduced in the latest beta version of the app, made available for download only a few days ago.

The new Dropbox for Android 2.0 can be found on Softpedia as well, via this link. It is compatible with all devices running under Android 2.1 or higher OS versions. You can learn some more info on the application via the video embedded below.
