New version of the Dropbox mobile application for devices running under Google's Android operating system was made available for download, namely 0.9.8.9 Beta, complemented by the availability of a new beta version of the solution for RIM's BlackBerry smartphones, it seems.

According to the development team, the new releases come forth with a series of fixes included into the mix, along with some other changes too.

“We made some bug-fixes, and would appreciate everyone testing this app one more time (hopefully) before it goes to the Android Market,” the team states in regard to the Android flavor of the application.

The release notes for the new 0.9.8.9 Beta version of the application include Gallery UI design changes, as well as included support for Audible's .aa and .aax file formats.

At the same time, the new flavor of the app comes with some bug fixes, including: - Up-to-date version of file is downloaded when changed remotely. - Stability, fixed several FCs, and other improvements

As for the BlackBerry client, it is now available in a new beta version, the sixth one, actually.

“We're got a sixth installment of the Dropbox for Blackberry beta for you, and we've added an additional batch of tester slots for anyone who hasn't had a chance to try the beta out yet,” the developers note.

What the new solution comes around with includes only fixes for the various issues discovered with it, it seems, at least this is what the release notes show:

- fix for problem with large uploads on 5.0 and 6.0 - fix for issues around unlinking - fix for "authorization expired" in login screen if credentials are wrong - miscellaneous minor fixes

Both clients are moving fast towards the release of a final version, that's for sure, since we've seen quite a few releases made available over the past few weeks.
