Dropbox is not done with the good news, apparently. It recently announced that it's doubling storage space for paid accounts while keeping prices the same.

While it's a nice bonus for existing users, Dropbox was forced to do it as the competition has been heating up.

But Dropbox also had a nice surprise for some of the earliest users, it upgraded their accounts to "free." There was a time when Dropbox offered 25 GB plans, in the early days. It may have been an experiment to see what plans turn out popular.

As you may have realized, the 25 GB was not one of the popular, or at least profitable, ones so it was scrapped. But some users stuck with it.

Now, Dropbox is giving them the 25 GB for free and will stop billing them. It's likely a housekeeping move, a few users with unusual plans are more hassle than it's worth, but it's still nice of Dropbox.
